Big news from the Hill today: White House and Senate leaders reached a deal on a $2 trillion COVID-19 spending bill, which would provide financial assistance to Americans, emergency loans to small businesses and more resources for hospitals and enhanced unemployment insurance. The Senate will move to vote on the bill later today.
Still, a question remains: How will hospitals and health systems fare with the projected financial fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic? Becker’s Hospital Review outlines six things you need to know. Plus, with help from ProPublica, the publication also posted a helpful outline of four distinct scenarios explaining how the pandemic will play out in hospitals around the country.
CMS announced last week that all elective surgeries, non-essential medical, surgical and dental procedures be delayed during the COVID-19 outbreak. Read a copy of the guidance here.
