Our last quarterly newsletter was delivered in late March. In many ways, that feels like a lifetime ago. In this edition, we’d like to include a few words from our CEO, Gerry McCarthy, on the events that have unfolded in recent weeks.
First, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in these uncertain and challenging times.
I feel very strongly about addressing the abhorrent tragedies and brutalities that have taken place against Black communities in this country. The events of the past several weeks remain a stark reminder of the ugly reality of the permeating racial injustices in our society, and our lack of progress in the U.S. and around the world. These horrific events are not new by any means, but bring to the forefront the fraught challenges facing people of color in our country. This is only magnified in a pandemic, where many of the same individuals are already disproportionately impacted.
We understand that many of you have been affected by these devastating events – whether directly, through loved ones, or by being a concerned member of the community – and our hearts are heavy with sadness and frustration. Let me be clear – racism of any kind, whether it be overt or implied, will not be tolerated at eSolutions. We have made strides in diversity here at eSolutions, but our efforts to build a diverse workforce must improve. We are committed to recruiting and developing more employees and leaders of color. Now more than ever, we must support our workforce, clients and one another as we speak up for equality.
Be well and stay safe.
We announced a new, free tool to support providers in transitioning more easily to the use of Medicare Beneficiary Identifiers (MBIs) for claim reimbursement. This tool, created in direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic, is now being used by 5,000 healthcare facilities across the U.S., ranging from the smallest home health provider to some of the largest hospitals and health systems. Together with our partners at Alpha II, eSolutions has developed a series of timely, information-packed webinars to walk providers of all types through these regulatory changes and to make sure you are operating with the most updated information for the coding, billing and operational changes brought on by COVID-19.
We’ve developed this guide to help providers adjust to your “new normal.” Our solutions offer technology to minimize the manual work you may be facing – including eligibility verification of telehealth visits and expanding claim edits to promote correct coding methodologies and ensure clean claims are submitted, which reduces unnecessary rework from underpayments and denials.
