Our last quarterly newsletter was delivered in late March. In many ways, that feels like a lifetime ago. In this edition, we’d like to include a few words from our CEO, Gerry McCarthy, on the events that have unfolded in recent weeks.
First, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy in these uncertain and challenging times.
I feel very strongly about addressing the abhorrent tragedies and brutalities that have taken place against Black communities in this country. The events of the past several weeks remain a stark reminder of the ugly reality of the permeating racial injustices in our society, and our lack of progress in the U.S. and around the world. These horrific events are not new by any means, but bring to the forefront the fraught challenges facing people of color in our country. This is only magnified in a pandemic, where many of the same individuals are already disproportionately impacted.
We understand that many of you have been affected by these devastating events – whether directly, through loved ones, or by being a concerned member of the community – and our hearts are heavy with sadness and frustration. Let me be clear – racism of any kind, whether it be overt or implied, will not be tolerated at eSolutions. We have made strides in diversity here at eSolutions, but our efforts to build a diverse workforce must improve. We are committed to recruiting and developing more employees and leaders of color. Now more than ever, we must support our workforce, clients and one another as we speak up for equality.
